Summer is supposed to be a break—but for a lot of families, it becomes a season of stress. When your teen is struggling with big emotions, impulsive behaviors, or frequent outbursts, the downtime can feel anything but relaxing.
That’s exactly why we created Coping Skills Summer Camp. It’s four days of targeted support, creative learning, and real-life tools—designed to help teens feel more in control of their emotions and their relationships.
If you’ve been wondering how to actually help your teen (without fighting them on every little thing), this camp is for you.
1. They’ll learn how to regulate their emotions—in real time.
Emotional regulation doesn’t come naturally to everyone. Especially for teens dealing with anxiety, trauma, or neurodivergence, it’s not enough to just “calm down.” They need tools that actually work.
At camp, we teach those tools through creative, interactive exercises that make the skills stick. Teens leave with a better understanding of why they react the way they do—and what they can do differently next time.
2. They’ll practice handling stress before it boils over.
A lot of teens we work with have two speeds: “fine” and “meltdown.” There’s no middle ground.
One of our core focuses during camp is distress tolerance—how to cope when things are hard without falling apart or making it worse. Whether it’s a rough day at school, a fight with a friend, or just the overwhelm of life, they’ll build skills they can actually use in the moment.
3. They’ll strengthen their relationships—with less drama.
If your teen struggles with friendships or constantly feels misunderstood, you’re not imagining it.
We spend time helping teens build interpersonal effectiveness—which basically means learning how to communicate clearly, set boundaries, and get their needs met without blowing up or shutting down. This part of camp often leads to noticeable changes at home, too.
4. They’ll get out of their head and into the moment.
Mindfulness is woven throughout everything we do. But we’re not sitting in silence for hours—this is about movement, creativity, and connection.
Your teen will learn how to tune into their body, slow down their thoughts, and be more present—all in a way that feels natural and age-appropriate. For many teens, it’s their first experience of real calm.
5. They’ll connect with other teens who get it.
One of the most powerful parts of camp isn’t in the curriculum—it’s in the community. Teens often walk in thinking they’re the only ones who feel this way. By the end of the week, they know they’re not alone.
Camp is intentionally small and supportive. We create a safe space where teens can be themselves, laugh a little, and leave feeling lighter.
