Learn how to understand your nervous system, build coping skills that actually fit you, and stop forcing yourself to function by hiding who you are.
You’ve Gotten Really Good at Looking Like You’re Fine.
You know how to get through the day. You know how to give people the answer they want. You know how to push through when you're overwhelmed. You may even look like you're doing great from the outside.
But inside, you’re exhausted. The noise is too much. The expectations are too much and social situations are exhausting.
You’re constantly trying to figure out what you're supposed to say, how you're supposed to act, or why something that seems easy for everyone else feels so hard for you.
Maybe you shut down or avoid situations. Anxiety takes over and you can’t stop your brain from cycling through the same stressful thoughts. You may even turn to self-harm to cope, only to feel even worse afterward.
And you may have spent years thinking:
“Why can everyone else handle this?”
“Why am I so overwhelmed?”
“What is wrong with me?”
You Don’t Have to Keep Forcing Yourself to Fit
With the right support and direction, you can understand why certain situations overwhelm you instead of constantly blaming yourself for struggling.
Imagine learning ways to regulate your nervous system that actually work for you.
It is possible to recognize when you're approaching your limit before you completely shut down.
You can cope with distress without relying on self-destructive behaviors.
With the right skills, you can advocate for what you need instead of masking until you're completely exhausted.
You don't have to become better at pretending you're okay.
You can learn how to support yourself more effectively.
Learn How To Support Your Nervous System Instead of Fighting It
You may have spent a long time trying to change yourself to fit the environment around you by trying harder, pushing through and masking. And when those strategies stop working, it can feel like you're the problem.
But, the goal isn't to force yourself to tolerate everything.
The goal is to understand what your nervous system is telling you and build skills that help you respond differently.
That's why my approach is highly experiential and individualized. I use DBT skills, creative interventions, mindfulness, movement, recreation-based activities, and nervous-system regulation strategies to help you practice skills in ways that connect to your actual life.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist who specializes in helping neurodivergent teens and young adults find ways to support their nervous systems, build practical coping skills, and authentically show up as themselves.
My background in higher levels of care has also prepared me to work with clients experiencing acute mental health symptoms, crisis, and high-risk behaviors.
I’m trained in DBT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and SPACE, and I use creative and experiential approaches to help clients actively participate in their own healing.
When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family and friends. Whether practicing or teaching yoga, indulging in the latest Netflix show, or taking walks with my dog and sons, I find joy in the simple moments. In the summer, you'll likely find me on the beach, engrossed in my favorite book.
