I'm Katie Paone and I help teens who feel like their emotions are too big, too heavy, or too painful to handle, helping them build coping skills and hope for the future.

Credentials and Expertise

I am pursing my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Arcadia University, with a concentration in Trauma. I am particularly interested in working with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression and medical conditions.

Teen DBT Therapy in Flourtown, Wayne & Philadelphia

My clinical foundation in mental health counseling is strengthened by hands-on experience as a grief counselor, where I facilitate groups for children and teens in schools. I am also a member of Chi Sigma Iota, the international counseling honor society. Beyond formal credentials, my lived experience with anxiety, shame, grief, and fear allows me to show up for clients with deep empathy and authenticity.

Integrating Thoughts & Emotions for Balance

As a counseling intern, I take an integrative and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I am drawn to approaches that help clients understand both their thoughts and their nervous systems. My work is informed by cognitive and behavioral approaches such as CBT and DBT, while also incorporating an interest in somatic awareness, emotion-focused work, and the connection between mind and body. I believe healing happens not only through insight, but also through learning to feel safe, connected, and empowered in your own body and life.

Creative Approaches for Self-Compassion & Family Connections

I believe therapy is not about perfection; it’s about creating space to pause, breathe, cry, laugh, and simply exist. My approach is creative and collaborative, blending evidence-based interventions with tools that make therapy approachable and effective. My goal is to empower teens and families to find coping strategies that stick and relationships that feel healthier and more connected.

Beyond the Therapy Room

My favorite ways to relax are reading a good book, hiking with family and friends, or try cooking new recipes. I also love listening to live music and traveling with my family. I can often be found fostering for a local cat rescue, and I have several pets of my own

Take the First Step Towards Empowerment

Therapy is a place where you don’t have to go through life’s hardest parts alone. Together, we’ll work toward healing, resilience, and hope for a brighter future. Individual appointments are available at the rate of $50 per session. As a graduate student, I work under the supervision of Samantha Crean, LPC.
