I'm Hannah Makowski and I help teens who are struggling with managing big emotions, self-harm, anxiety and depression. My goal is to holistically support teens and their caregivers through skill-based treatment to bring peace and meaningful connection back into your home.

Credentials and Expertise

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, where I completed the Trauma Certificate Program. Drawing from my extensive experience with high-risk teens and their families, I am passionate about helping teens learn to cope with self-harm, suicidal ideation, and the hopelessness of depression. I bring my passion and training for social justice into the therapeutic space by ensuring all clients feel included, safe, and welcome in bringing their authentic selves to therapy.

Teen DBT Therapy in Flourtown, Wayne & Philadelphia

I am skilled in trauma-informed care for LGBTQ+ individuals, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all my clients. My approach is creative, integrating various therapeutic techniques to make sessions engaging and effective.

With a focus on high-risk teens in my previous roles, I have gained skills in providing individual and group therapy using evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I have worked extensively with teens with OCD and co-occurring substance use disorders.

Creative Approaches For Healthy Relationships

Incorporating my background in play therapy, I use creative techniques to engage teens in the therapeutic process. This approach helps to build a connection, reduce anxiety, and make difficult topics more approachable. I have a passion for supporting teens who are struggling struggling with maintaining healthy relationships and implementing effective, healthy coping skills into their lives.

Empowering High-Risk Teens and Families

Through intensive training in DBT, I support high-risk teens and parents struggling with self-harm, depression, and suicidal ideation. My goal is to provide a compassionate and effective therapeutic approach that equips individuals and their families with the necessary tools to navigate these challenges and find hope and healing. Together, we will work towards developing concrete coping strategies and fostering emotional well-being.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I'm not working with clients, I love cuddling with my cats, spending time with loved ones, and getting out in the sun whenever I can!
