I'm Nathalie Goykhman and I'm here to help you navigate your emotions while gaining practical and creative tools for resilience. Together, we'll build on your strengths and foster lasting success.

My Approach

I work best with teens who are open to incorporating movement and creative expression as powerful resources for managing their emotions. As a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I bring a unique perspective to therapy. With an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling from Drexel University, I provide a safe and profoundly seen space for individuals to explore neglected, shamed, and unexplored parts of themselves.

Focus Areas

I have a special interest in helping clients understand the mind-body connection and using movement, mindfulness, and creative self-expression to access hope, vitality, and the agency to create a meaningful life. My extensive experience working with teens in acute inpatient and partial hospitalization settings, addressing depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and trauma, has prepared me to support clients in their most vulnerable moments. I also have clinical experience in schools, early intervention, and community settings, ensuring a well-rounded approach to therapy.

Cultural Sensitivity

As a First-Generation American, I recognize the importance of engaging cultural context and addressing the intersectionality of identity in therapy. I am dedicated to providing affirming, inclusive, and empowering care for clients, advocating for trauma-informed initiatives, and challenging racial and gender inequities.

Teen DBT Therapy in Flourtown, Wayne & Philadelphia

Evidence-Based Approaches

With intensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I help clients develop actionable skills to manage their emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of self. I also bring expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to promote self-awareness and align clients with their core values. Training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and the Sanctuary Model of trauma-informed care equips me with skills to cultivate safety and structure for clients' healing, resilience, and readiness for change. Additionally, my certification in power yoga and research on the intersection of yoga and dance/movement therapy enriches my practice with yogic elements.

Beyond the Therapy Room

When I'm not working, you'll find me dancing (and hiking) with my dog Strudel, exploring Philadelphia's culinary delights with my partner, practicing inversions in yoga, writing poems, and brewing loose leaf tea. In the forest, I practice mindfulness, listen to podcasts, and savor spicy and pickled treats.
