Understand Your Teen's Struggles

Watching your teen struggle with overwhelming emotions and self-destructive behaviors can be deeply distressing. Knowing how best to support them through these challenges is often not clear.

The Path to Stability

Imagine your teen managing their emotions effectively and making healthier choices. Our structured support is designed to equip both you and your teen with the necessary tools to achieve emotional stability and resilience.

We offer a tiered approach, ensuring that both teens and their parents are actively involved and supported throughout the process.

Level 1: Individual Session Integration

Join your teen at the start or end of their individual sessions. This direct involvement allows you to learn firsthand how to support and reinforce the progress your teen is making. You’ll learn techniques to validate your teen’s emotions, fostering understanding and empathy for their experiences.

Level 2: Concurrent Parent Emotion Regulation Skills Training

Participate in a parent skills group that mirrors the emotional regulation strategies your teen is learning. This level equips you with tools to aid your teen and also enhances your own emotional regulation skills. This preparation empowers you to be a strong, stable presence, enabling effective co-regulation of emotions at home.

Level 3: Intergenerational Healing

Engage in your own therapy sessions concurrent to your teen’s therapy. This advanced level provides you with insight into how your teen’s behaviors may trigger your own past experiences, fostering deep personal growth and improving family dynamics. While this level requires the most significant time and resources, it delivers the most impactful and lasting results, establishing a comprehensive environment of emotional stability for the entire family.

Choose Your Starting Point

Select the appropriate level of engagement based on your family’s current needs. Whether you begin with immediate concerns through Level 1, or engage in comprehensive, long-lasting relief with Level 3, each level is designed to build upon the previous, ensuring a cohesive approach to your teen's emotional development.

Most families start at Level 2 and revisit Level 3 after completing a 12 week round of Parent DBT Skills Group.
