For teens who want an affirming space to explore their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, without fear of judgment or rejection.
When your teen has depression or anxiety AND is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, they are likely experiencing rejection, bullying, teasing and feeling like they don’t belong.
This daily challenges make feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, hopelessness and suicidal thoughts even worse.
LGBTQ+ teens are 4x more likely to consider suicide. A safe, supportive and affirming place is critical for their health and happiness.
Our Safer Space Group will help your teen:
Learn practical coping skills for depression and anxiety so that they can manage the difficult days without making self-destructive choices
Achieve a stable sense of identity to improve self-esteem and decrease problematic interactions
Feel heard, understood and included among peers and experience healing through a validating and nonjudgmental community
Help your teen go from feeling helpless and alone to safe and secure in exactly who they are, with the skills and support they need to find happiness.
The investment is $50 weekly for a 60 minute group. A portion of the cost may be reimbursable by insurance.
