I'm Meredith Munro
I help creative teens with depression learn skillfully shift out of sadness and communicate effectively with parents so that they form stronger family bonds that lead to safer choices and behaviors.
I do my best work with quirky and highly sensitive teens who are experiencing suicidal thoughts and who struggle to connect with parents to appropriately ask for support.
As a Licensed Family Therapist, my passion is in working with teens to help them better communicate their feelings to parents and to help parents know HOW to respond in ways that help so that you all feel closer and more equipped to manage the moodiness and ups and downs of the teenage years.
I am Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) educated and have completed the skills training that allows me to treat teens who experience emotional extremes, self-esteem and identity issues and/or self-harming behaviors and suicidal ideation,
I have completed the EMDR training certification to work with teens who have experienced a trauma and who want an evidence-based system to rework thoughts that keep them feeling stuck and help them feel free of flashbacks and anxiety.
I have experience in attachment-focused family therapy with suicidal and self-harming teens to help families heal attachment injuries and learn how to fully connect... because teenagers listen and communicate with their parents when there are strong bonds in place, not just firm rules to follow.
When I'm not working with clients...
I love filmmaking, taking hikes, reading and keeping my Instagram popping!
I am pleased to offer Sunday appointment times for teens with hectic school week schedules!
