I'm Katie Durr
I help overwhelmed teens explore difficult feelings through creativity so they can learn to communicate, get their needs met appropriately by others and end the cycle of self-destruction that's keeping them stuck.
I do my best work with teens who struggle to put their thoughts into words and help them find strength and meaning through the arts.
As a Licensed Art Therapist, my work history in an eating disorder inpatient facility makes me a good match for teens who may be showing signs of disordered eating, along with difficulty coping with anxiety, depression and self-harm behaviors.
I have a passion for working with teens who have a chronic illness, helping them to use art to find strength and meaning in a difficult experience.
Through my full time work, I have an extensive understanding of teens on the Autism spectrum and use art to help teens better understand themselves so they can more easily connect socially.
Together we blend the creative and practical to develop a plan to improve your teen's ability to manage emotional overwhelm and enjoy each day for what it brings
When I'm not working...
I love making art, running, hiking and camping. I have an interest in true crime and love listening to podcasts and in my spare time I love to relax at home, watch movies and play my guitar.
I am pleased to offer Saturday appointment times for teens with hectic school week schedules!
