I help teens and young adults learn real-world positive coping strategies so that they can manage uncomfortable situations and difficult emotions OUTSIDE of session, not just in an hour a week.
I do my best work with clients who are self-aware and who want to get fun and creative while learning healthy thought patterns and positive self-talk. I help clients learn to manage tough emotions, not avoid them!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience in Family Systems Therapy as I believe the systems in which we are part of serve as a vital roadmap to our current functioning.
I utilize a Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach to assist teens in learning how to self-regulate their emotions and improve interpersonal relationships.
I have a certificate in Mindfulness Based Therapy for Children & Teens and incorporate creative ways to manage feelings of anxiety and stress in a non-judgmental and productive way.
I enjoy incorporating yoga into my sessions for mind-body connection and have specialized training in trauma-informed yoga strategies.
In my full-time position, I work as a college counselor at a local university. This position uniquely qualifies me to support college-bound teens who are experiencing stressors in the application and decision-making process. I've seen first-hand the gaps in resources and support that students come to college with and have a passion for helping rising high school seniors find their footing so that they can transition to the next step feeling fully prepared and confident to live independently and thrive.
When I'm not at work...
I love anything outdoors!! Biking, hiking, camping, running…. I enjoy physical activity while admiring the beauty of each season (summer is my favorite though!).
I have competed in a few triathlons (yes- I swam in the Schuylkill river…) so love training in a variety of activities.
I use yoga and meditation as important ways to decompress from stress, and I LOVE traveling to experience different cultures and explore new sights! In fact, that's me on a mountain top! >>
